Villa ORDINANCE, English Harbour, Antigua, West Indies You’ve probably looked at a hundred websites showing ideal Caribbean holiday villas for rent. This one is possibly the best tropical rental location you’ll ever find! It’s in what’s thought to be the most beautiful area that Antigua has to offer - overlooking historic Nelson’s Dockyard and the Caribbean beyond.
On a hill Ordinance Villa is on the bay of the same name with views of a huge variety of beautiful yachts at anchor or tied up to the sea wall that Admiral Nelson walked. Nearby is his eighteenth century powder magazine which serviced the guns of the Ships of the Royal Navy’s Caribbean Station, all now restored to its former excellence as the only surviving Georgian naval dockyard in the world. Ordinance Villa has four luxurious double bedrooms each with its own bathroom, ceiling fan, TV and DVD, voluminous hanging cupboards each rendered in restful pastel Caribbean colours, and each with a glorious and unique view. There are two dining areas - one indoors and the other covered adjacent to the swimming pool and deck. The kitchen is bountiful and fully geared for gourmet catering. The large informal main room is comfortable and has a library of books and magazines - again with generous access to a broad deck complete with buttoned loungers. A few yards away is access to the private dock and the villas’s own large dinghy in which to explore nearby Galleon Beach and the Pillars of Hercules which guard the Dockyard and which, incidentally, has the best Scuba diving and snorkelling on the island. A five minute dinghy ride away is probably the area’s best restaurant - Catherine’s. And closer you can explore the square-rigged schooner "St. Peter", designed in 1780, and which was in the recent feature film "Pirates of the Caribbean". She is the flagship of the Royal Redonda Navy, the owner lives nearby and is the fourth King of Redonda (you can invite him over for dinner any time you like!) If you’d like to stay in the loveliest villa you’ll ever see, and remember your glorious vacation in Nelson’s Dockyard for the rest of your life, maybe you should spin down to Antigua and have a look? Your villa inspection trip can include having dinner with the owner in his delightful restaurant "Calabash" a few hundred yards around the bay at Galleon Beach. One or more of our first class rental cars can pick you up at the V.C. Bird International Airport on your arrival. The car is yours until you depart tearfully for home. Our local company, Antigua Car Rentals, ensures that your rental car (air conditioned saloon, convertible, 4WD or SUV) will be well cared for during your stay at Ordinance Villa. Book it and the Ordinance Villa rental at the same time. We’re sipping a coffee martini on the terrace of Ordinance Villa waiting for your call.
